Nature Policy Plan Caribbean Netherlands


The plan sets out the strategic goals and actions. The process of development of the nature polcy plan in particular forms an integral part of this best practice example, since it was done in close consultation with NGOsector (e.g. DCNA and some island specific organizations) tourism sector and other private sector representatives, and the national government.

Significant contribution to preservation of biodiversity and ecological effectiveness
Provision of further environmental and socio-economic benefits
Applicability/transferability to other regions
Sustainability of projects (i.e. projects remain beyond the given funding)
Good governance (involve relevant stakeholders and integrate different interests and perspectives and needs in part from local stakeholders)
Generating multiplier/imitation effects
