Summary:
Observatory to monitor the evolution of the quality of environment in the viscinity of a huge mining facility in the southern province of New Caledonia. Wide governance board: participation of local policy makers, mining companies, environmental NGO, scientific community and local community representatives. Developpement of efficient communication tools(GIS, newletters, etc).
