The project involved a series of different activities, e.g. the collection of scientific data regarding tourist presence on the island, the visual daily monitoring of white-tailed eagle, the video analysis to monitor the white-tailed eagle disturbance on a colony of common guillemots. It also included the monitoring of the reproductive success of common guillemots and razorbills (species Alca torda), the daily ring reading of a sub-colony of common guillemots, the placement of GLS and TDR devices on the bird’s legs. Thesis title: ‘Sampling and analysis of zooplankton obtained in the Atlantic Ocean around Canary Islands’
From February 2019 to March 2019, internship at the Oceanographic and Global Change Institute (IOCAG) - - of University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. During the internship I learnt some laboratory techniques related to the study of zooplankton’s samples. Concretely, the main purpose of the activity was to obtain taxonomic data working with the imagines scans, and to study the metabolic features of plankton using the ETS technique.
From September 2018 to January 2019, Erasmus+ studying programme at University of La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain. I followed different courses focused on the floristic and faunistic features both marine and terrestrial of Canary Islands (in particular, “Marine Biology”, and “Flora and vegetation of Canarias”).
