A list of good practices was identified by the NetBiome partners in the various ORs and OCTs. in one or more of the following categories:
- Characterization of biodiversity
- Drivers of evolution
- Biodiversity management
- Governance and policies.
Good practices comply with one or more of the following criteria:
- Significant contribution to conservation of biodiversity and ecological effectiveness
- Provision of further environmental and socio-economic benefits
- Applicability/transferability to other regions
- Sustainability (i.e. projects remain beyond the initial funding)
- Adaptive management of biodiversity (allowing to cope with change of environmental conditions, e.g. climate change)
- Good governance (involvement of relevant stakeholders and integration of different interests perspectives and needs)
- Generating multiplier/imitation effects
